We believe a welcoming and comfortable environment is an important part of the dental experience.
We consider indoor air quality when creating our clinical environment. Our clinic incorporates:
Filtered drinking water is available for patients and families throughout their visit.
We understand that the sounds of a dental clinic can influence how patients experience their appointments. That’s why we play calming lo fi music throughout the clinic, with gentle tones and slower rhythms to help create a relaxed atmosphere.
We believe patients should have access to information about the materials used in their dental treatments.
We consider material composition, manufacturer information and individual clinical needs when selecting dental products.
We use BPA free composite filling materials, supported by manufacturer documentation. We also consider information about material composition, including the presence of BPA related compounds such as Bis GMA and Bis DMA. Our material selection is guided by clinical suitability, available product information and individual patient needs.
We take an interest in the ingredients and composition of the anaesthetic products used in our clinic. Our approach includes:
We use dental floss that is PFAS and PTFE free, supported by manufacturer documentation. We consider material composition when selecting floss and other oral care products for use in our clinic.
Rather than conventional petroleum based lip products, we use Egyptian Magic as part of our patient lip care experience. This product is formulated without petroleum, added synthetic fragrances, parabens or conventional preservatives. We select patient care products with consideration for their ingredients, intended use and suitability.
We offer a selection of oral care products to accommodate different patient needs and preferences. Our range includes:
The products we recommend or stock are selected with consideration for their ingredients, material composition, intended purpose and relevance to oral health. We review available product information and encourage patients to make informed choices about their oral care routines.
Beyond restorative materials, we also consider the everyday products used throughout our dental appointments.
We use powder free nitrile gloves, including accelerator free options. Glove selection takes into account clinical requirements, product composition and individual sensitivities.
We take an individualised approach to professional dental cleaning. Traditional prophy paste is not routinely used during our dental cleans. Instead, we select cleaning and polishing techniques according to each patient’s clinical needs. Our approach allows us to consider the products used during appointments while maintaining appropriate professional cleaning standards.
We do not routinely ask patients to rinse with conventional flavoured mouthwashes during their appointments. Mouthwash use is considered according to individual clinical requirements rather than being included automatically.
We do not routinely use disposable dental bibs during appointments. This reflects our consideration of single use materials and waste within the clinical environment. Appropriate infection prevention and control measures remain central to our clinical procedures.
We believe that thoughtful dental care extends beyond the treatment itself.
Our clinic environment includes carefully selected amenities intended to create a welcoming and comfortable experience.
Our amenities include:
Depending on availability, patients may receive selected oral care or wellness products. Examples include:
At Dental + Skin Clinic, our material conscious approach reflects our interest in understanding the products and materials used throughout the dental experience.
We believe patients should feel comfortable asking questions about dental materials, product ingredients and available treatment options.
Our goal is to provide transparent information and individualised care while maintaining appropriate clinical, safety and infection prevention standards.
We recognise that all dental materials and products have potential benefits, limitations and risks.
Our treatment recommendations are guided by individual clinical needs, professional judgement and available scientific evidence.
The term “material conscious” describes our clinic’s approach to considering dental materials, products and ingredients. It is not a recognised dental specialty and does not imply that our treatments or materials are free from risk or inherently safer than those used in other dental practices.
Product descriptions, including BPA free, PFAS free and PTFE free, are based on available manufacturer documentation. Material suitability and treatment recommendations are assessed according to individual clinical circumstances.
